Story Behind
Established in 1965, the Karatu Coffee Factory is located in Kiambu, Kenya—a renowned coffee-growing region with an annual rainfall of 1400mm and average temperatures ranging between 13–24°C.

As part of the Gitwe Farmer Co-operative Society Ltd, Karatu not only cultivates high-quality coffee but also grows maize, bananas, and other crops, some of which serve as shade trees for the coffee plants.

To support local farmers, the factory offers loan programs to help with agricultural investments, ensuring sustainable farming practices and economic stability for the community.
