Story Behind
Operated by the Gachatha Cooperative Society, the Gachatha Factory was established in 1963 in Kenya’s renowned Nyeri region, nestled near the Aberdare Range. The area enjoys an annual rainfall of 1,600mm and a mild climate with temperatures averaging 13–24°C—ideal conditions for high-quality coffee cultivation.

The cooperative consists of 1,542 smallholder farmers, who benefit from its welfare programs, including educational support and funding for coffee farming improvements. By investing in sustainable practices and farmer training, Gachatha aims to enhance production quality, yield, and livelihoods for its members.
