Welcome to our Sensory and Hand Drip Coffee Course! In this two-hour session, we will explore the sensory aspects of coffee and delve into the art of hand drip brewing. Get ready for a hands-on experience that will deepen your understanding and appreciation of coffee. Here's a simple description of what you can expect:

1. Introduction to Coffee Sensory Experience: We'll begin by introducing the concept of sensory evaluation in coffee tasting. You'll learn how to engage your senses of sight, smell, taste, and touch to assess different aspects of coffee, such as aroma, flavor, body, acidity, and sweetness. We'll provide you with a sensory evaluation guide to help you identify and describe these characteristics.

2. Understanding Coffee Brewing Variables: We'll discuss the key variables that influence the brewing process, such as grind size, water temperature, brewing time, and coffee-to-water ratio. You'll learn how these variables impact the taste and quality of the final cup.

3. Hand Drip Brewing Techniques: Hand drip brewing, also known as pour over, is a popular method that allows for precise control over the brewing process. We'll demonstrate different brewing profiles with our in-house designed “contour drip”, and guide you through the step-by-step process of brewing a perfect cup. You'll have the opportunity to practice different pouring techniques and observe their effects on the extraction.

4. Tasting and Flavor Profiling: After brewing your hand drip coffee, we'll explore the flavors and characteristics of the brewed cup. We'll discuss how different brewing variables influence taste and help you identify specific flavor notes. You'll learn how to develop a flavor profile and describe the coffee's aroma, acidity, body, and aftertaste.

5. Pairing and Food Complements: We'll explore the art of pairing coffee with food. You'll discover how the flavors and textures of different foods can enhance or complement the taste of coffee. We'll provide practical tips and suggestions for successful coffee and food pairing.

6. Q&A and Resources: At the end of the course, we'll answer any questions you may have and provide you with additional resources, such as recommended coffee beans, brewing equipment, and further reading materials, to support your journey into the world of sensory coffee and hand drip brewing.
